Audition Information -
The PATE 2021-2022

We will be holding auditions on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the Dept. of Theatre and Film, Bowling Green State University, Wolfe Center in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre for a short program of plays in the Spring 2022. (See the list below)

 

*Prepare a short monologue or spoken word piece and/or song or musical instrument – drums, guitar, flute, etc.

Akan Rhythm Plays (Traditional)

Tahinta! A Rhythm Play for Children by Efua Sutherland

Time: 20 minutes

3 performers + chorus (2 or more)

All people - ethnicities, genders, gender non-conforming

Vulture! Vulture! by Efua Sutherland   

Time: 10 minutes

3 performers + chorus (2 or more) Same or other performers as above

All people -ethnicities, genders, gender non-conforming

 

African American Play

A Conversation in an Elevator by Mary E. Weems

Time: 30 minutes

2 Actors (White and Black actors) to play female-identifying characters.

Caribbean Play

Massacuraman by Paloma Mohamed (Amerindian mythology from Guyana)

Time: 30 minutes

5 or more performers
